About Me

Hello,
Angela K.
I'm so glad you stopped by to check out Lupine Literacy. I started this blog in June 2013 as a way to develop my knowledge of research, best practices, and quality materials for teaching literacy. I'm excited to meet individuals in the education field and those from different walks of life. The blogging community is a neat place to connect and learn from other people. I have made wonderful friends through blogs in a previous account and can't wait to see where this one will take me.

Currently, I am in the process of applying for jobs in the hopes of starting my career in the educational field. I have been a substitute in an Oregon public school system for three years and have worked as a teacher at a tutoring center for two years. I have a Bachelor of Science from Western Oregon University (2009) and a Masters of Education with Reading and ESOL Specialist endorsements from Pacific University (2012). I would love to practice all that I have learned in my own classroom, but until then I'm going to learn as much as I can about literacy and teaching strategies.

Hope that you share your thoughts, suggest ideas, and leave here with useful information about literacy. Thanks for checking out Lupine Literacy! Enjoy your day!
